not that work isn't fun, i really find it okay for me.
but its always nice to have time off, to do things that i like.
its a friday night and i'm too tired to even get my ass outta the house.
the minute i got home, a nice hot bath was all it took to make me rooted at home.
i just want my comfy t-shirt and shorts,
maybe some tv, my computer.
it dreads me to think i have to be outside now, having to walk..
my legs are stiff at the very thought.
while listening to 987FM today,
i happened to listen to Jesse Mccartney's-Beautiful Soul.
And a realization struck me.
this would be the perfect song for The Host by Stephanie Meyers.
haven't got a clue what i'm talking about?
so little people know about this book,
or at least less than those who know about the twilight series although they're both by the same authors.
Its so not doing it justice.
Seriously a good author is a good author, you should trust that all the books written by her are good. In my honest opinion, The Host is way better than twilight.
maybe twilight has lost its novelty after awhile,
but The Host is such a good read.
anyways, i thought that Beautiful Soul would have fit the scenes of Wanda and Ian perfectly.
if they ever do produce the movie(i hope they do), i kinda can imagine the song being fitted in.
non-readers of The Host would think i'm spouting gibberish.
After i had bought the book 'The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and other stories' last week,
i took a single night to finish reading the book!
i can't believe it, and such a book doesn't come cheap,
and its only a paperback. hmpf...
anws, whoever created the toys did a good job of portraying these tragic children.
take a look at them.
from left to right: Toxic Boy, The-famous Oyster Boy, and Stain Boy.
I thought the story of oyster boy was real tragic.
the others were still okay, like kinda short, but meaningful.
its a really weird book and weird me likes it!
While i was shopping at Watsons today, i happened to chance upon this ang moh family which comprises of a mom, and her two girls, no older than 10 years old.
they were browsing the nail polish section when ang moh mummy picked out a glittery green nail polish and handed it to the elder of the two girls.
"How about this honey?" she asked
"No. I already have that color, besides, i don't want that color on my finger nails!" She retorted, giving a slight pout.
I pretended to be checking out something on the shelf while eavesdropping on this interesting conversation. How odd.
I only got to know about nail polish when i was in primary 5. And boy was i fascinated!
kate was the darling who introduced it to me, and i love the cooling effect it left on your nails when you applied it. i love how your nails suddenly don't look the same old boring plain pink,
but you can decide the color you want it to be, you could mood-match it.
and i definitely didn't have my mom choosing colors for me,
no, it was the opposite, she was yelling it me how it would destroy my nails, and my nails would fall off, all kinds of nasty stuff.
Imagine her reaction when i tried black nail polish, i didn't hear the end of it from her. haha.
How different are we, i realised, a far cry in fact.
did your mom pick out nail polish for you when you were the tender age of say, 8?
long day tomorrow, i'd better rest early tonight. goodnight.
[[ i don't want to walk this earth if i gotta do it solo. ]]
