Dad brought us to JB! :D
Queue was equally long, but we got lucky! :D got in and saved plenty of time! Worst night to go out yesterday because of the crowd, according to sis it was the last ladies night of 2011, so that's why the whole world was out! omgggg.
Amazingly, managed to wake up at 9 this morning and even drove us to the Johor premium outlets. nothing much there, lots of brands but kinda overrated. Spent a couple of hours there, didn't get a single thing. Still! it was exciting because it was so new!
They had a serious housefly problem, and i was so excited queuing up to get a crepe when I realized the place was crawling with houseflies. Their explanation "We apologize for the large amount of houseflies due to farming issues nearby, we are trying our best to maintain the hygiene of the area." Nope, couldn't do it, gave up getting the crepe in the end. Settled for baskin robbins but gave up the cone as well because like at least 10 houseflies landed on the cone that was left in the open! :(
Lunch at the food court was bad, no matter how new the place looked. Food was overpriced as well, food courts in Singapore are cheaper than the one there, and had better food. AVOID AVOID AVOID for lunch! Saw a Thai place on the second level which had a queue, prolly that place was better.
Left for the next shopping mall an hour's drive away, got groceries and walked around a bit before heading for our final stop- city square.
Bought a new bag there, and had dinner at a Hk restaurant, food was alright, but much cheaper than the outlet in Singapore, amazing how the price differs by so much.
Paid Cathay cinemas a visit while we were there as well, and then it was home sweet home!

busy fishy day.
Woke up bright and early this morning to head down to Keppel Bay for breakfast, before we try out our new secret fishing spot. Been seeing people fish there for ages, but that place is teeming with security cameras and 'No Fishing' signs, plus the fishes that were caught seemed like those coral fishes that were brightly colored or striped.
Prive was really empty this morning, apart from the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, everything else was not yummy. :( Beginning to lose interest in that place. The sun came up right after breakfast, and that's when we grabbed our rods and eagerly started to fish. Dad caught the first fish which cia wanted to keep as a pet because of its pretty stripes, but it died an hour later. :( The guards came to shoo us off later on, and then we realized only those who lived there or owned a boat could actually fish there. Hardly any fishes anyways, mostly the same ones.
Had a whole list of chores for the whole day, but that didn't stop us from stopping by Ikea to grab lunch! It was the perfect lunch place, minus the crowd, and we even got a nice seat by the windows! Got caught in a bad jam later in the afternoon on the way back to school, motorbike got crushed under the wheels of a huge vehicle. ouch! Rounded up the day with duck rice from Katong and a new pair of specs! I'm beginning to miss singapore already, but its either deal with the missing, or deal with another new sem at school, i'll take the missing anyday! :)

an interesting read
In late-2008, I was lucky enough to discover a book called, The Introvert Advantage (How To Thrive in an Extrovert World), by Marti Laney, Psy.D. It felt like someone had written an encyclopedia entry on a rare race of people to which I belong. Not only had it explained many of my eccentricities, it helped me to redefine my entire life in a new and productive context.
Sure, anyone who knows me would say, “Duh! Why did it take you so long to realize you’re an Introvert?” It’s not that simple. The problem is that labeling someone as an Introvert is a very shallow assessment, full of common misconceptions. It’s more complex than that.
A section of Laney’s book maps out the human brain and explains how neuro-transmitters follow different dominant paths in the nervous systems of Introverts and Extroverts. If the science behind the book is correct, it turns out that Introverts are people who are over-sensitive to Dopamine, so too much external stimulation overdoses and exhausts them. Conversely, Extroverts can’t get enough Dopamine, and they require Adrenaline for their brains to create it. Extroverts also have a shorter pathway and less blood-flow to the brain. The messages of an Extrovert’s nervous system mostly bypass the Broca’s area in the frontal lobe, which is where a large portion of contemplation takes place.
Unfortunately, according to the book, only about 25% of people are Introverts. There are even fewer that are as extreme as I am. This leads to a lot of misunderstandings, since society doesn’t have very much experience with my people. (I love being able to say that.)
So here are a few common misconceptions about Introverts (not taken directly from the book, but based on my own life experience):
Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk.
This is not true. Introverts just don’t talk unless they have something to say. They hate small talk. Get an introvert talking about something they are interested in, and they won’t shut up for days.
Myth #2 – Introverts are shy.
Shyness has nothing to do with being an Introvert. Introverts are not necessarily afraid of people. What they need is a reason to interact. They don’t interact for the sake of interacting. If you want to talk to an Introvert, just start talking. Don’t worry about being polite.
Myth #3 – Introverts are rude.
Introverts often don’t see a reason for beating around the bush with social pleasantries. They want everyone to just be real and honest. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable in most settings, so Introverts can feel a lot of pressure to fit in, which they find exhausting.
Myth #4 – Introverts don’t like people.
On the contrary, Introverts intensely value the few friends they have. They can count their close friends on one hand. If you are lucky enough for an introvert to consider you a friend, you probably have a loyal ally for life. Once you have earned their respect as being a person of substance, you’re in.
Myth #5 – Introverts don’t like to go out in public.
Nonsense. Introverts just don’t like to go out in public FOR AS LONG. They also like to avoid the complications that are involved in public activities. They take in data and experiences very quickly, and as a result, don’t need to be there for long to “get it.” They’re ready to go home, recharge, and process it all. In fact, recharging is absolutely crucial for Introverts.
Myth #6 – Introverts always want to be alone.
Introverts are perfectly comfortable with their own thoughts. They think a lot. They daydream. They like to have problems to work on, puzzles to solve. But they can also get incredibly lonely if they don’t have anyone to share their discoveries with. They crave an authentic and sincere connection with ONE PERSON at a time.
Myth #7 – Introverts are weird.
Introverts are often individualists. They don’t follow the crowd. They’d prefer to be valued for their novel ways of living. They think for themselves and because of that, they often challenge the norm. They don’t make most decisions based on what is popular or trendy.
Myth #8 – Introverts are aloof nerds.
Introverts are people who primarily look inward, paying close attention to their thoughts and emotions. It’s not that they are incapable of paying attention to what is going on around them, it’s just that their inner world is much more stimulating and rewarding to them.
Myth #9 – Introverts don’t know how to relax and have fun.
Introverts typically relax at home or in nature, not in busy public places. Introverts are not thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies. If there is too much talking and noise going on, they shut down. Their brains are too sensitive to the neurotransmitter called Dopamine. Introverts and Extroverts have different dominant neuro-pathways. Just look it up.
Myth #10 – Introverts can fix themselves and become Extroverts.
A world without Introverts would be a world with few scientists, musicians, artists, poets, filmmakers, doctors, mathematicians, writers, and philosophers. That being said, there are still plenty of techniques an Extrovert can learn in order to interact with Introverts. (Yes, I reversed these two terms on purpose to show you how biased our society is.) Introverts cannot “fix themselves” and deserve respect for their natural temperament and contributions to the human race. In fact, one study (Silverman, 1986) showed that the percentage of Introverts increases with IQ.
“You cannot escape us, and to change us would lead to your demise.” <-- I made that up. I'm a screenwriter.
It can be terribly destructive for an Introvert to deny themselves in order to get along in an Extrovert-Dominant World. Like other minorities, Introverts can end up hating themselves and others because of the differences. If you think you are an Introvert, I recommend you research the topic and seek out other Introverts to compare notes. The burden is not entirely on Introverts to try and become "normal." Extroverts need to recognize and respect us, and we also need to respect ourselves.
Let me know your thoughts.
-Carl.
christmas christmas time is here!
We've got the turkey dinner at home, albeit the microwave dying on us halfway, we've got the usual opening of one present ONLY on Christmas eve, and the Christmas mass (two of them this year), and another full Christmas dinner on the 25th Dec, and finally coming home to opening all the presents, and awaiting another holiday tomorrow! :D And now that its all over, I'll just have to look forward to next year for this wonderful day again!
Getting ready for bed and was about to load an episode of HIMYM when I get the error message "Servers are all full, try again later." WHAT IS EVERYBODY DOING HOME ON CHRISTMAS! you should be out (so that I can watch my episode in peace), i'm dead tired so its definitely an early night for me because of the late nights playing Spyro on Wii with baby. Its so addictive that game, we're already at the 50% mark and I really do hope to complete it before I leave.
My holiday is too short in Singapore, I can't bear to leave. I think I'm gonna be so homesick. Let everything stay the same when I get home!
A merry Christmas to one and all, and to all a good night!

and i thought all this was over last month
I wanted to wait until after xmas, but dad encouraged me to check it now and get it over with. So I guess i'm gonna do it right after i write this, because if my results are all too disappointing once more, xmas will cheer me up and allow me to realize that exam results are not all I live for, there are so many more beautiful things in life to look forward to, and it will not ruin my favorite day of the year!
Anyways, done all my Christmas shopping! can't believe I actually completed before christmas itself, WITHOUT stepping into town this year! woooo, a lot gentler on my wallets. Having a Christmas lunch later at baby's. Bought a bottle of wine to bring over, but I'm so shit at wines that I just ask the person at wine connections to introduce me to one. I ended up with a south african fruity one, this is mental note that if the wine's not good to not go back there again!
gahhhhh its down to this moment! congrats to all who did well!
& its 3 days counting to xmas! :D

Holidays are awesome!
Its awesome how those songs I've been listening to just comes to life, it was 3 hours of pure wicked goodness! How I dreaded when it came to the last song, but the cast was fantastic! I've heard rumors that the Australian cast was not as good, but I seriously beg to differ!
They were very good, although I do think some could be better, but it was overall a very good show!
Thanks babyboy for this musical! its been the most awesome yet!
Pre-wicked jitters! was soooo excited we headed in 15 minutes early!
Sadly, the seats we got were very bad, the bar was blocking our view the whole time, and it was 3 hours of leaning forward to overlook the bar. BUT as mesmerizing as the musical was, I pretty much forgot about the bar when the first song came on.
Managed a sneak photo of the finale! I would watch it over and over again.
Cannot wait to see how the Broadway version differs from this one, truly this is a musical that really puts a cherry on top of a beautiful 2011!
The past week, had 2 21st birthday parties as well, R and C had their birthdays back-to-back!
Happy 21st R! Hope you had a great one, food was awesome and turnout was great! Love your birthday cake!
C you're practically beaming! HAHA. I can tell you had an awesome time, love the muffins that I had for breakfast the next day! :D Special thanks to N.
awwww we're all 21! :')
Headed down to the science center for the dinosaur exhibit. I remember being terrified of this exhibit as a kid. So it must have been pretty awesomely terrifying. But to my slight disappointment, it wasn't. Perhaps over the years of growing up on Jurrassic Park movies and the recent Terra Nova craze, the dino exhibit was pretty blah.
I would pay if it had been probably $10, but not $20.
More the next time!

today my life begins.
For all future HP1000 students, it is indeed suicidal to take it as an elective, but one can easily do well if you mug hard enough for it. There are plenty of terms to remember, notes are definitely not enough though, textbooks are a must. & also note the steep bell curve because psych majors will be taking the mod, and there is the unlikely case of high S/U.
The final exam is manageable within the first 2 hours, the last half hour is really for extra checking and stuffs.
No past year papers because I think they repeat questions. Theories are very important, and lots of application during the actual exam itself!
But now all that is over! I have not prepared for the visa interview tomorrow at all, trying my best not to procrastinate, but I just have sooooo many things that I wanna do by tonight, yet i know i'm not gonna last long anymore!
happy holidays!
how steep a climb.
But in another 2 hours, I'll be breezing through the last 2.5 hours of this semester! I love it how exams sometimes fly by, before you know it, you're rushing for time to finish the final essay and its over and done with! and that guilt doesn't set in till results time so its all good!
can't wait for dimsum lunch later @ Cathay! awh the bliss of post-exam enjoyments!

last official 24 hours of Y2S1
Obviously with all my papers nearly over, the mood to study for the final paper is close to zero.
My weekends were ineffective studying phases coupled with the yearning for tuesday morning to come quickly.
Now when I'm facing the final lap, I realized i know NOTHING of what my psych teacher has been talking about for the semester. Plus this is not going to be easy because there are short-essays involved, with application of theories that we have learnt!
sudden deja-vu of my B grade just flashed through my mind again.
Had intended to leave N's party after cake-cutting but we went on to games and such, only left at 1, and by the time my head hit the pillow, it was 3AM.
Woke up at 8AM this morning and have been feeling like a dead cow ever since. Already drank a full cuppa coffee, and chewing on plenty of ginseng slices, which will USUALLY work, but seems completely useless now.
You are going to get another B for psychology if you don't PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER NOW and get those theories into your mind. and then you can give up all hope of ever minoring in this field anymore! okay psychology theories, be nice to me, just let me understand you for the next 24 hours and that's all i'm asking. Be nice.

often, you will regret the things you did not do, more than the things you did.
i spent 5 precious minutes trying to calculate how long i should take for each question, because the prof jumbled up the marks for this exam as compared to the past year papers!! arghhh...
Then i rushed straight in, because time was really a HUGE factor. I wish i could have transferred my spare time from astro paper to this one.
Rushed into some stupid question and ten minutes in, I realized I had no clue as to what I was writing. Damn, I looked at the other question and realized I could do that question better! but it was ten minutes left to write, and there goes 20marks.
NOTE TO SELF, PLEASE READ THROUGH AND PLAN, AND BRING A CALCULATOR SO YOU HAVE MORE TIME TO PLAN QUESTION RATHER THAN CALCULATE HOW MUCH TIME TO TAKE FOR EACH QUESTION!

dinner at 4.45PM
cannot wait for 9AM tomorrow. i'm THIS close to giving up. This exam is just the worst, not only does it have the most facts and figures to memorize, history truly and until today, never is my thing. I do not understand WHY we must understand the movement of communication studies through the various key people, through their 98127387214 researches and different names of research centers opened. Granted, some of these people are interesting to know, but having a 30M question on application of their areas of interests and thought process, urgh...
No amount of information is going into my head anymore, try as I might, my brain just refuses to absorb any further. But i know if i stop now, i'm going to think back after my exams tomorrow and regret not studying harder today. Not giving my mind that slightest chance of having that thought for the next semester while i'm away. back to studying...
p/s: special thanks to all those who've been there to listen to me complain about my exams, and giving me words of encouragement to push on during this trying period. really appreciate having you in my life! <3
will you look at that!
Just completed Astro paper on Monday, that was the one which is actually the easiest, 50 MCQ. But easy does not mean ability to score, because most would have found it easy if they had studied the past year papers and memorized the answers as well. Doesn't help that they doubled the cohort this year, making the margin for error EVEN slimmer than all semesters before.
Tomorrow's the killer papers- -COM207 early in the morning at 9am, and then Asian Horror in the evening 5PM, and I'm finally heading home for my first home-cooked meal in 3 weeks. I am so going to enjoy my holidays this time, even if i did not do well, at least i know i gave it my best shot! this is the max i can do for this semester!
Parents and val are leaving for New York next Friday, so excited for them, wish I were leaving for NY too! :( Supposed to head down to Universal Studios that week with cia, but some problems with the ticket screwed up the whole trip! USS is always giving me these problems! Bah. this is why Singapore will destroy the image and goodwill that its parent company has spent years building up. Or maybe because they don't give two hoots about locals, mind you we're the one who will be recommending if its good or not! If the service sucks, you think we're gonna ask our friends to head there? I think not.
Its one thing to be smaller already, compensate it with something else like quality customer service, or soon you'll be in the league of HK Disneyland.
20 hours and counting.

didn't get to the 5th day...damn
But i had such a wonderful dream, about this mysterious shop tucked away under that weird brown christmas tree right outside Ion orchard. It was a Daiso shop, everything was going for $2, but nobody could find the location of this shop. And guess what they were selling, the biggest Tintin collection ever, books, figurines, everything going for $2!! A single figurine would usually cost $2-3k. A pity I bought everything only to realize it was a dream. BAH!! :(((
11 more days and counting.

The more routine, the less life
My biggest distraction however, is not facebook, not youtube, but those tintin comics lying in a folder on my desktop. Every chance I get, any break I have, every mealtime is just an opportunity and excuse to read them. I shouldn't have watched the movie.. Then again, it sparked off that part of me which remembered why i entered wkw in the first place- to pursue journalism. Just because basic media writing scared me off the track of journalism, doesn't mean i should completely rule out that possibility. Well i shall attempt at it once more at least before I graduate!
Had the longest breakfast with the roomie this morning, A is such a joy to talk to! Its definitely a refreshing break from that horrid routine, and makes me miss having long talks with friends.. I guess that's one thing good that comes out from this exam period, allowing you to re-adjust and shift your priorities to understand what is truly important, and to truly relish in all that free time after this exam period!
First paper is in 4 days, then after that everything will fly by, as it always does once the first paper kicks in. Can't wait for exchange next semester, because bbyogi's gonna be flying over to visit once my sem ends! :DDDDDDDD
& we're gonna go visit Universal Studios Orlando!! :DDDDDDD Harry Potter world!!!! :DDDDDDD Magic Kingdom :DDDDDDDDDD oh happy times! don't think I've ever looked forward to something so much before! :DDDDDDDDDDDD
and now back to the history of communications.
One travels to run away from routine, that dreadful routine that kills all imagination and all our capacity for enthusiasm. - Ella Maillart

COM207 blues...
Its hard having to construct an entire history of communications from scratch and i'm not even halfway there, even after 2 days! :(
207 is really the bane of my life for this semester, and I honestly can't wait until the paper is over. I get the importance of studying it, at times it can seem quite interesting knowing who did what, or came up with what theory, but an exam on all these facts is just impossible.
PLEASE LET THIS BE OVER QUICK!
Tuesday, November 15, 2011
don't stop, never give up.
thanks for the encouragement bby!
this will tide me thru the remaining 2 weeks and i can't wait to have fun with you from 29th Nov!
I am looking forward to Wicked, visiting xmas deco all around Singapore, trying out new places to eat, visiting Tintin exhibition, Universal Studios again, Christmas & New Year's!
thanks for always being there, now and always. :))
close of year 2 sem 1
Plenty has happened since then, but the looming one is just days away: my final exams.
As usual, brings back memories to exactly one year ago, when I was studying for my very first exam in University. In the first semesters, cores are assigned, so there isn't really much of a choice. But after a year here, your options are now more open. I'm happy to say I am only down to one core for this year, which I will be clearing in two weeks time! so that leaves the rest of the modules open for options. What's most important I feel, is the interest in the module.
After a year of lost orientation in which tracks to choose, it doesn't boil down to which module allows you to score, but whether you've taken something you really have interest in. I have chosen to go into the broadcast track, although personally I feel its something I cannot score in, but its the satisfaction of completing the project that gives you this extraordinary feeling that I cannot achieve from seeing an A on my degree audit.
This is especially the case for my third and final project in COM225 module, which is the first project that I've been so dedicated and determined, not to mention involved in the entire process from pre to post production. Having the most awesome groupmates with just the right dynamics was definitely the key. A was a very good director to work with, his precision and perfection for the composition and framing truly did justice to our idea, not to mention his chirpy self that really brought about positive energy to all our shoots. C was detailed in every aspect, and was always pushing us on and encouraging us! K was the start of a new friendship, since she was on exchange, and if not for this project, I don't think I would ever have the opportunity to get to know her.
I remember back to that evening at the benches, when we all proposed our individual ideas, and just like that, our random ideas sparked off into a true beauty, an idea that got all of us so excited to work on! Even though our shoot dragged on for 3 sleepless nights, the adrenaline rush from being able to see the final product just tided me through. It is an amazing experience, something which I never thought I'll ever experience this semester .truly the most memorable production to work on thus far.
Apart from that, I have finally decided to minor in Psychology. Even though i scored a B for my psych module last semester, which is truly enough to put anyone off from taking any future psych modules, I have decided to press on. Perhaps it is just my fascination with the whole subject itself, but being an arts student, with the mathematics and biology, we just don't see eye to eye, thus I know I will not be able to score in this. Nevertheless, it is something I would have gone into had I not gotten a place in WKW, so this is the only chance that I will ever have to study something of interest, and imma grab good hold of it!
The last thought that I have before this semester ends, is my final decision to take up a language module. Initially for my very first semester, my GPA shocked everyone and myself even, but last semester it took a really steep dip, and I am out of the playing field for high GPA score, so my priorities have switched to taking what I have interest in, and I had shunned the idea of language, because I know it is not my thing. Been there, tried that before, it just didn't work with me. But at least taking a module in school means I don't have to pay $99 to learn it at some community centre, and probably with the pressure of it being a school curriculum, i might even learn it better! So thanks to advice from K, I AM GOING TO TAKE LEVEL 1 SPANISH!
hola español!
Next sem also marks the temporary goodbye from NTU, and into the section of my uni life which I have been looking forward to the most- EXCHANGE!!!
Flying off to Houston on the 6th Jan 2012, and starting school at Texas Christian University on 15th Jan 2012! I hope the food's good, people are nice, lessons are fun and traveling experiences are aplenty, and I really really do hope i do not overspend before I return in June.
The countdown to finals are exactly 6 days away, and my last paper is on the 29th! I hope time flies by, and before I know it, I will be busy planning for my exchange trips, getting Christmas presents, and accomplishing my after-exams to-do list which I have been keeping track of since a month ago before I leave SG!

HURRICANES- RIBS THAT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!
never in my life have I had more delicious ribs, but coming from me, the only other ribs I've had is tony romas, so maybe it doesn't take much to impress me. Butbutbut, from kate&krissy who have had tons of ribs before, if they say its good, trust them, its good!
Headed down to the Bondi Beach outlet! There is another one along Darling Harbor but this one is supposedly better? I couldn't really tell the difference, cept' the one in Darling Harbor had a rack which wasn't as good as the rest, so that one was just the slight bit of letdown!
Bondi beach was superrrr windy at night!! when we got outta the car, literally felt myself being lifted slightly off the ground- okay fine, not really off the ground, but nearly, just that little bit more!
Rushed indoors to duck the strong winds, and we were greeted by CROWDS OF PEOPLE, crowds, easily 20+ people in the waiting area with a full house. As expected, we waited nearly 45mins to an hour for our table.
The display of alcohols! I love it how the bottles shine and glimmer under the bright lights! Expensive upkeep to have this sorta displays in the house, sadly.
AWAITING THE RIBS!! the wait wasn't too long, and once you're seated, you feel satisfied with simply taking in wafts of grilled ribs with that special bbq sauce, it was so delightful, and wherever you turn your head, the other table seems to be digging it to what promises to be the most yummy ribs! you can tell easily, from the way they sink their teeth hungrily into the ribs, to mopping up the sauce on the plate with shreds of meat, oh gawd how i yearn for some hurricane's right now!! :(
ginormous knives used for cutting the ribs, nearly as big as our faces!
Starters: garlic bread!
Calamari in salt and pepper! I've grown to love the salt&pepper combination in food over there, combine two of the simplest seasonings you can find and make something taste sooo goood!
diggin' the bibs! :D for a messy eater like me! this saved me from splatters of bbq sauce!
wooooo. a moment to remember! my very first hurricanes rib!
we sure are HAPPY PEOPLE in hurricanes!
tata! we'll be back again soon! promise!
it was a reaaally enjoyable night at hurricanes! i had so much fun! not to mention a very satisfied stomach when i left the place!
hurricanes forever!
One Night at Vivid Sydney!
I haven't gotten the time to sort through the photos, but since I am down with a very bad case of swollen eye, I might as well use this time to blog!
Sydney is a beautiful city, and the weather was perfect when I landed! Clear blue skies with the occasional cloud, and SUNSHINE!
Kate and krissy met me right on time, even though I landed and cleared customs earlier than expected. It was a smooth drive back to their place in the city.
It is an AMAZING apartment they have there! all that space, not to mention the convenience. It is surrounded by everything you can ever need, and nothing's more than a 15-min drive away!
Headed down to Vivid Sydney on a saturday night! vivid sydney is the single-most fantastic display of lights I've ever seen. I've caught the one in Singapore once, but it was nothing compared to the one in Sydney! it was beautiful!
The weather was kinda drizzly, but that was easily solved by a short stop @ Max Brenner!
only one place they churn their chocolates and transport them through pipes along the ceiling to the counters! Just like a mini willy wonka's chocolate factory, minus the chocolate waterfall.
Hot chocolate by the pot!
I had a dark chocolate drink to-go, and it truly warms you right up! Not to mention the additional delight you get from munching the mini marshmallows bobbing happily in my hot choc! YUMYUM!
There were many events during vivid sydney, one of which was the fire show!
Basically just fire dancing to tunes, there was a classical tune, and Katy Perry's fireworks! Awesome to watch! and the blast of fire just warms you right up, also provided really good lighting for my camera! :D
All lit up by the 'dancing' fires!
Some nice dude that offered to help us take a photograph, and we were so worried he'll just take off with the camera! he was nice though! he didn't run off as we had thought!
& kate's spinach&ricotta ravioli in the picture too!
Before Vivid sydney, we headed down to rows of stores that were selling food, or rather, street food. But street food is nothing like it is in Singapore or Taiwan (which is the only thing that comes to my mind when I say street food), its really REALLY yummy food!
i.e. Kate's ravioli for example, that was SOOOO GOOD!
Some random meatballs thing which is just the biggest pot of stewing meatballs I have ever seen in my life.
Can't remember the name of this one, but they had it in beef/potato, piping hot!
Something like a cross between a spring roll and a non-spicy curry puff, if you can imagine. This was really yummyyyyyyy!
I also had KEBAB! my first kebab since I stepped foot in Sydney.
If there is one thing i missed so much about aussie, its the KEBABS! :((((((( Its never as good anywhere else, never as nicely toasted, never bursting with sauces, sliced meats and veggies, just never as good!! I think I had kebabs for my meals any chance that I had during my 10 days there, and for my lunch as well just before I flew back to Singapore!
Funny cloud umbrella man & woman, everyone was rushing to take photos with them! Part of vivid sydney & I want one of those umbrellas! I bet i'll feel happy carrying them around in the rain, cept' i might run the risk of getting an electric shock cos they have mini lightbulbs fitted on the inside, so maybe not.
cool car display made out of lights and blue wire! So pretty in the dark, and sooo outstanding!
Sydney @ night!
And one last stop @ St. Mary's! Looks prettier in the day though, but this picture looks as though it is snowing! <3
Wet and rainy weather for the night, but it was sooo worth the walk down to catch Vivid Sydney!
If there ever was anyone going to Sydney for holidays, this is the one thing you do not wanna miss!!

How holidays fly by
This is the place to be. I can't say how much I love it here. The weather, the FOOD! the most AWESOME company one can ever wish for, and the whole atmosphere.
Over past ten days, I can only thank me lucky stars that kate and krissy know Sydney so well to have shown me the whole of Sydney, and bringing me to all the most yummiest places to dine!
One post is not enough to sum up my whole trip, so i'm only going to do it when i get home!
& i'm soooo excited, going to Hurricanes for dinner tonight!! I seriously feel so upset that they do not have hurricanes back hoome! >:(
tony romas pales in comparison to Hurricanes so badly! I can't imagine not being able to have Hurricanes after tonight. :(
But what a lovely city Sydney is. The people here are awesome, all so friendly and welcoming!
Chocolate here is soooo good, i will always remember my very first cuppa Max Brenner dark chocolate on that cold night down to vivid sydney!
Also, i saw the sunset @ Opera house which is just lovely!
I will be back!
Till we meet again!
many thanks to kate & krissy for being the two most awesome people for showing me around Sydney and putting up with all my odd living habits over the past 10 days! love you two! :D

chocolate oatmeal
Just gotten back from Vietnam last thursday, and i'm loving every bit of Vietnam! one can really dine and live like royalty there! everything's so expensive now that i'm back in Singapore again!
Leaving for Sydney in 3 more days! can't wait! Since K has been studying there, there were many plans to travel down to Sydney, but none of them materialized sadly. But this holiday, everything's planned and arranged and I'm heading down for 10 days! Woohoo! \o/
There's sooo many pictures that I've yet to upload onto my laptop, but i'm too lazy to get to it. Having to sieve thru all the photos and select the ones that are keepers always carries an element of procrastination to it.
Weather's all weird nowadays, one minute its melting hot, the next minute it rains non stop. K says the weather in Aus is getting nicer these few days, I wouldn't say no to a chance to escape this tropical climate for awhile.

either half full or half empty
but seeing it another way, at least i don't have a back-to-back paper today! after last sem, back-to-back was crossed off the list already.
Next on my list is aiming to end exam earlier/at least on the same day as everyone. The same thing with EAR801 last sem, and i was all holiday mood a week before.
Just woke up from a longgggg nap even though i didn't really need one, but it feels good!
Had lontong, and i discovered some weird pellet-like thingy in my soup. Due to my self-diagnosed mild hypochondria, I have determined it to be some sort of 'extra' ingredient that will not sit well with my stomach. At times it becomes self-fulfilling such as today, and I already feel a tummyache working up. :((((
I need a personal doctor which can identify if i am really sick or not, all I need is someone qualified to tell me, no you're not sick, this is perfectly normal, without costing me $25 consultation fees.
I called B to ask him what that thingy was in my soup, he told me it was heibee, the dried prawn thingy, but in a pellet shape?? But I don't think so.. the last time I called him up over a real emergency he told me I was too stressed. :((
This time tomorrow, I will be one hour in my exam, and then I get to head down to Changi to buy my headphones, go for dinner and skype with Eunice & Chia!!
I am loving the Fabulous Friday deals down at Changi, and the deal tomorrow is an Adidas Sennheiser headphone set going for $50 (U.P $90) when purchasing $30 worth of products at T3 with visa. The next one I'm eyeing is the Disney plush toy going for $3, vintage Mickey and Minnie pair, but i'm still contemplating about that one cos i'm gonna have to spend another $30. This one is so justified cos i'm gonna need a pair of headphones to run with, IF i successfully manage to get back on my regular workout routine.
AHH taaaa back to studying for my final paper! come on come on last lap last lap!
[80% of the final exam will be based on the one lecture you missed and the one book you didn’t read.]

My life would suck without you, iphone
I can't say how much I love TBBT. Sheldon is epic awesome, i wanna be friends with him even if he's gonna drown me in intelligent insults all day long i wouldn't mind!!! Hahaha sheldon is just so sheldon and its gonna be so hard to ever forget such person exist once you get hooked onto TBBT. I am already thinking of collecting the seasons, and 30 years down the road, i would still be able to watch it and remember sheldon! Okay, fine, initially it started off with only loving TBBT for sheldon, but i've grown to love the other characters too! Raj is just stupidly funny with his 'huh' expression, always cracks me up! Wolowitz just has to pull off his sexy voice and i'll be laughing at whatever he says, he's seriously got such a sexaay voice omg. Bet he uses that to charm girls all the time in real life. Haha.
And Now thanks to my trusty iphone, im not gonna continue typing anymore as the bus has set off and i'm extremely prone to motion sickness, i shall revel in TBBT episodes on youtube! :DD
Bazinga baby!
i love the airport because..
Two weeks later, this place will hold a completely different meaning, I will be here not for the purpose of studying for my finals, but here to sit an actual plane outta singapore! WOOPS! \o/
But somehow its always different from how I imagined it, the impromptu daydream that I've always had sparks off this adrenaline rush so tempting it is beyond description. You have to be here for a purpose other than flying, but somehow, a complete 180 degrees turn, and BAM! you're on the next plane outta here.
its crazy really, perhaps in my year 4 when I'm so close to graduating and wanna dare myself to do something like that just for the kicks!
From a total of 5 papers, I have painfully slashed my way thru down to 2 more papers. The battle's more than half done, but the 2nd half is always the worst.
Loss of motivation, fatigue bubbling, not to mention the uneven allocation of time spent of my first 3 papers, hence the negligence of the last two.
This exam period has caused me the loss of 3 public holidays, all of which occurred WITHIN the past 3 weeks. What are the odds yo, its a conspiracy I tell you.
But the best benchmark ever was having to take 3 papers in a row within a day. Seriously, if you want to provide any form of consolation for yourself during the exam periods, just sign yourself up for 3 exams on a single day for your first sem. After that, no exams will seem as sucky as that one, and everything will seem better when compared to that. It truly sets things in proportion for you.

justin lim kwan ting!
In the movie of our life,
starring you and me.
Hollywood is in for a treat,
wait until they see.
The stage is all ours,
so let's put on a good show.
We act these roles so well,
but they will never know.
Shakespeare seems out of date,
Romeo and Juliet got old.
Baby they have nothing on us,
so let our story be told.
We write romance scenes,
like forever had no end.
It all comes so natural,
with an amazing girlfriend.
We've only gotten started,
the end is far from now.
Nothing can break us up,
not even a broken vow.
People watch the notebook,
is that all Hollywood's got?
Girl, you and me alone,
make those scenes look hot.
They'll write a story one day,
and a movie to go with it.
Just get us to act it out,
It would be the greatest hit.
We may never be Hollywood's hottest,
Brad and Angelina will be in the past.
It will last as long as their careers,
but baby you and I will forever last.
