BELATED!!!

AT LONG LAST!!!
i finally managed to empty my camera of the 900+ pictures that's been clogging up my memory space! and guess what? of the many photos, i've only chosen 20+ to blog about!
its a really bad habit of mine to snap 3-4 of the exact same picture in a bid to capture the perfect one! But no matter how i view it on the computer later on, it just looks to same to me. I don't deny the lightings/colours are better a particular picture, but its such a waste of space.
Note to self: you shall only take one shot everytime and not multiple-shoot it!

OK, here goes. In no random order:

Dinner with kate at OOTOYA:

finally met up with kate after she's gone for so long!!
went for dinner at this jap place called ootoya in somerset 313.
so we had to wait for about 20 minutes for our seats, and we decided to wander around abit, seeing that none of us has actually explorer orchard central that well.
Her reason: looks empty from outside
My reason: terrified of the freakishly long & never-ending escalators.

But, after much winding & turning, and attempting to get onto the rooftop garden,
we finnally made our way there and BOY wasn't it such a discovery!
i honestly felt that it had a better view than that from the singapore flyer(although i haven't been on the singapore flyer before). But this is like out in the open air!! not in an air-conditioned capsule, and i love the open air more!
it was amazing!!

nearly taller than all the buildings in the vicinity!!
it was sunset already, and our first picture in years!(guilty!)

check out the beautiful view!
i'm not much of a photographer, so it looks better in real-life than in this picture!

you know, they should seriusly advertise more for that place!
its a really great place to just stand there, taking in the view around you, good place to calm the frustrated or heartbrokened.(or maybe not, who knows what suicidal thoughts could run through your mind at such a height)
anyways, itsjustareallyreallygreatplace!!

dinner was great! although the dish i had was a tad too salty, but their rice choices were real interesting. we chose the seaweed and taro ones, which were so unlike anything i've even imagined.
the seaweed was perfectly infused with the fragrance of the rice, and the taro had this layer of curd over it! sweeeeeeeet!
desserts at fruit paradise with yummy tarts to end off the day~! <3>DADDY'S DAY 2010:

So, we headed down to Din Tai Fung for dinner that day,
the very place that me & cia founded our love for xiao long baos~
been there like seriously 9812638173817 times already,
and we always leave feeling so bloated and full, with promises that we will never return there for the whole of the year, but we somehow always find ourselves turning back to Din Tai Fung whenever we crave for some good ol' xiao long baos.

Dad: "*muacks* thanks for giving me such lovely, beautiful, smart, talented, funny, thoughful daughters!!!! "

then, my sis gave my dad the most creative person anyone could ever think of.
sometimes i think she's a cyborg in disguise? she has such lengths of creativity, one really wonders where she gets them from?
maybe its from the long hours of tv programmes and computer games that has harnessed such creative juices within her brains. (she's hopeless in studies, but any other aspects, clever ttm! )
even the mini toons salesperson was saying that this is seriously a one-in-a-kind present that she's never seen before. haha.

His very own World Cup Kit - comprising of peanuts, green peas, mixed nuts, cashew nuts, beer nuts, and a bottle of Heineken!
where she gets her inspiration was probably from the number of times she's seen him munching on them to stay awake during the match. so she got him enough supplies to last till the finals!
clever girl!

A family that watches the world cup together, stays together!

HM's 20th birthday:

And the time of the year comes again, when all us 1990 babies turn one year older, into our twenties. That's a BIG two-0 okay! its not a small deal. we all feel old!
old yet not old enough! everything should be legal at 20! why 21?
i hate the transition state..

anywayyyys, headed down to pasta de waraku for dinner!
and since HM was meeting her frens at Play that night, we decided to tag along!
so style & me made our way down to Maxwell food centre where Play was located, and met up with a whole bunch of her frens!
nicole already bought the cake and was planning to surprise HM that very night, and what would we do without the help of her frens!
they enthusiastically offered to help us surprise her and it wouldn't have been such fun without them that night! great people they are! hopefully we'll have a chance to hang out again in the near future!

classic!

HAPPY 20TH HM DEAREST!!!! <3

MBS:
What i find beautiful about it is neither the helix bridge leading to it, nor it quizzical structure. Rather, it is the infinity pool!!
from all the pictures, it looks really pretty! and i often wonder what it feels like to be leaning out against the edge of it! it is bound to be absolutely breathtaking!!
but alas, unless i'm rich enough to afford to pay $400 a night for a room, i can only leave it up to imagination for now.

The place was only renovating when we decided to check it out, wrong choice.
What we saw was ALOT of dust, cemented floors with no pretty tiles, an empty canal- a half-done river that was supposed to cruise sampan boats, and like a handful of shops opened...
maybe i wouldn't mind going there again, now that its at least in operation mode, rather than construction-mode.

its a heart shape, in case you couldn't tell.

prettay prettay~!!
do you really believe that everything about the structure of the building has to do
with feng shui? Like even the way that the tip of the 'boat-shaped' thingy on top is facing?

fooling around with the 'Under Construction' signboard! xDD

isn't she just the cutest!
seriously she reminds me of a small cuddly DOORMOUSE!!
(no reference to the fact that she's born in the year of a rat)
rats are like cousins to mouse anyways.

JBP with baby's family:
Isn't it amazing how many times i've visited jurong bird park in a single year?
like the last time i went before this year was when i was like primary 4 or something. But twice in a single year??
Ok, the first time this year wasn't really counted, cos it was for some dinosaur exhibition that was a TOTAL rip-off! i felt like i wasted 11bucks!
i'm even contemplating going for the 'walking with dinosaurs' show that is set to feature end of this year at the indoor stadium, although i've read the reviews and they ARE GOOD!! still, tickets are really pricey!

so this is the second time i'm going to the bird park, for real this time!
managed to see alot of birds, including me ever-most-favourite-since-i-was-a-little-girl- the World Of Darkness!!!
Snowy owls, barn owls, owls of all types!! LOVES LOVES LOVES!!!

parrots that will flock to you when you you buy a cup of their treats for $2 per cup!

greedy parrots.

WOTCHA LOOKIN AT!

EH?
(p/s: this is not found on the internet, i seriously waited 10 whole minutes for it to give me such a pose! )

DINNER AT AL DENTE TRATTORIA:

what can i say, overpriced on a weekend.
never ever go there, without their $10 wood-fired pizza,
it really isn't worth it for dinner.

Beef Lasagne, costs $38. i'd rather go to pasta mania for more yummy & cheaper ones!
there was no melted cheese, the beef and pasta didn't fuse together perfectly.
surprised at the lousy standard for lasagne despite their yummy pizzas.
i always thought the mastery of lasagne & pizza came together.

but this was orgasmic!!
calamari~ totally worth it!!! love these babies!!

my fav form of dining: al fresco~!
as memorable as that dinner was, it is only gonna be a one-off thing.
nothing there appeals much to me for me to pay it another visit. (except the calamari)
there's so many other new places i have to try anyway.
i have this list that i'm keeping of all the places where i would like to go to,
the count's at 30 for now, and its still growing!

Cousin natalie's 21st:

seriously random, but i haven't had a picture with my cousins since... i was in primary school, i think.
anyways, it was good to meet them again, and to have a picture taken too

left to right: cia, me, grandma, benjamin, stephanie, michelle
