Law can be interesting @ times.

Over the holidays, apart from swtiching on to HBO everytime i got a chance near my TV, I've also been up to date with this local TV series which I never paid any attention to when it was airing on TV; The Pupil.

The title sounds weird, & it seems all draggy & boring, but its far from that.
The storyline rotates around a law firm, and the pupil is this girl who is to be trained as a lawyer.
Law has always been categorised under my 'boring' category, but it all started from touching a bit of media law last sem. The case studies which we had to read were quite interesting, minus the fact that we were all trying to cram it in for a quiz. Still I have to give it credit for not putting me to sleep! Then again, I thought it was only interesting because was within the context of media, hence it was relatively less dry and draggy.

But i was wrong, normal law can be interesting as well, and I have a new found admiration for lawyers! Boy they are really brilliantly smart people!
I now wish I had the brains of a lawyer, being able to see things from more than just one or two pathetic perspective, whenever they put forth their case, all that runs through my mind is "OMG how did they even think of that?"

On the way to work this morning, my dad was telling me all about lawyers and court cases,
funny stories too of how he went to court once for illegally driving a motorcycle up & down the hill behind his old house when he was younger! LOL what a reason to go to court for.
& he planted this idea or suggestion in me that never would have surfaced although i knew of its existence. That is to go attend a real court hearing just for the fun of it!
it could be fun although i'm pretty sure the me that wasn't so interested in this a few months back would have thought of that is the last thing that i wanna waste a day doing.

Still, I've been checking up on the upcoming hearings, but nothing seemed to catch me attention yet, mostly about property rights, custody, and the few odd drug smuggling cases, one rape case & some financial issues between companies.
Hmm.. wondering if i could take a day off from work to go to one of those. Maybe it'll be totally different from TV & I'll probably end up dozing off or something. Its worth giving a chance! :)

& yay I've just received the greatest news from USS that they are gonna change my tickets to the 29th! which means i get to go to the Hollywood After Park Hours after all!
If i do have an enjoyable day, I'll write an email to thank that guy from the feedback section who's been such a star to help me out, rather than the useless enquiries service people who has done nothing but to make my blood boil & waste my phone bills. hmpf!

This whole incident has done well to push my patience to its limits. First we took the time & effort to go ALL the way down to get the tickets, paying $6 JUST to get into Sentosa to get the tickets, we specifically asked the person if there was gonna be the After Park Hours available on the 22nd Jan and was assured that there will be.
& can you believe it, a week later, when i checked on their website, the after park hours were NOT available on that day due to a private event!
Who wouldn't fume? Seriously. I called them & the entire incident was pushed around for days before I finally got a satisfactory response.. My trip to USS had better be great, or all that effort just wasn't worth it & it simply proves that Singapore's USS may have been built here, but the experience is incomparable to that in the States, and its simply destroying universal's studio's brand image. I really am expecting quite a lot from it, even from the beginning. I just hope i'm not too disappointed.

The entire incident was screwed up the minute i started calling them to get them to change my tickets for me.
I had one guy yelling at me 'HELLO?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!?! HELLO????" I was in the office, its really silent & there can't have been a problem with my phone, obviously he just didn't wanna entertain me.
The second time another dude picked up, and this time he kept insisting that I needed a ticket to get into the Hollywood after hours, and I had to repeat it 5 times that I have already bought the tickets, then he went on to insist that the 22nd jan had NO hollywood after hours. I gave up after that. He didn't even understand simple english and had ZERO idea of what i was talking about, or he was doing a pretty good job of pissing me off.
The third time a lady answered, but that wasn't the end of my problems. She insisted that the tickets had stated that "No Refunds Or Cancellations Allowed." and no matter what I said, she just stuck to giving me that reply. ooohhh just talking about it makes me sooo mad..

Its a Friday once more, & if there's one thing I've come to realise about school is that it makes your holidays more enjoyable.
Its like being stretched under all that stress and tension, and the holidays you're just released and relaxed. everyday of my holiday feels like a friday to me.
I can go home and pick up the remote & happily watch tv till late at night, I have no late sleep-in due to work but it doesn't matter!
Going to work is just clearing things for that day and then going home worry-free & being able to enjoy the rest of the night off!
During the school term, you have to worry about upcoming quizzes, presentations, readings (TONS AND TONS OF THEM), essays, homework... urk... :(

I have a long long but exciting day tomorrow!
The family day @ baby's camp tomorrow first thing in the morning, then afternoon we have a date with RWS, val's birthday & she's got a rooom there! <3
Later that night is Rocky Horror Show & after that its back to RWS again.
I can't wait to use the swimming pool there!! The last time we went it was still closed as it wasn't finished yet.
I just adore that place, seems like we're not in Singapore at all, yeah, in a way i guess.
See, that's why i have such high hopes of USS!!

My room's undergone this mini renovation over the holidays. I said mini because we've just done additions to it. Now we have a dressing table! Ah FINALLY!
New chest of drawers which is still so new it still smells of Ikea.
Brand new lights around the room with fluorescent bulbs that gives it that warm feel, it looks even better when the light blends right in with my wall colour. I knew we could never go wrong with choose yellow! :D
I've packed my room as well, i have too many things, I need more space to put em.
My dad said i got this from my mom which i never noticed before.
No wonder our house is full of stuff from every single holiday we've been on.
Its genes man, I'm a hogger, but proud of it! :D

When is the Rainforest Cafe going to re-open in Singapore?
